'The Diary of Anne Frank' now playing

"The Diary of Anne Frank," a play about Jewish people hiding from the Nazis during World War II, is being staged at Umpqua Community College through Sunday.

The play captures the fear, hope, laughter and grief of Anne Frank and seven other people, who hide in a concealed storage attic in Amsterdam for two years. The play is based on journal entries written by Frank.

The drama will be staged at 7:30 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Centerstage Theatre in the Whipple Fine Arts Center.

Tickets cost $9 and are available at While Away Books, Sutherlin Drug, Hanson Jewelers, the UCC Fine Arts office and at the door, if available.
