Getting children excited for piano

The Roseburg District of the Oregon Music Teachers Association is sponsoring a program at the Douglas County Library titled "How to get your child excited about playing the piano." The program is at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Douglas County Library, 1409 N.E. Diamond Lake Blvd., Roseburg.

The presenter is Stella Meinzer, a pianist with 25 years of experience as a performing artist and teacher, with a special emphasis on training young children.

Meinzer will work with a few young children interested in learning to play the piano. She'll demonstrate how to instruct and inspire young students to learn and benefit from the study of music.

Open to the public and free of charge. Interested children welcome.
