ALOHA (AP) — Numerous charges have been filed against a 17-year-old Portland girl who was behind the wheel of an allegedly stolen Acura that crashed in Washington County.
The sheriff’s office says Phillicia Johnsen was leading deputies on a chase Sunday when she failed to negotiate a turn onto Highway 26. The car left the road and went up a grass embankment before hitting a concrete retaining wall. The car landed on its top, but the teen survived and was taken to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office says she’s accused of identity theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, reckless driving, criminal mischief and other crimes.
Johnsen is on “abscond” status from the Oregon Youth Authority, and was transferred to its custody at the hospital.
