Print Comment
ROSEBURG: Students around the county will have the chance to partake in a day full of science activities, workshops and presentations next month.

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in Portland will visit the Boys & Girls Club of the Umpqua Valley, 1144 N.E. Cedar St. from noon to 6:30 p.m. April 4.

Science Day is offered to students in 1st through 6th grades. Both club members and non-members can attend the free event, but pre-registration is required for non-members and forms must be turned in to the Boys & Girls Club by April 3.

The day begins with lunch for all participants and is followed by two OMSI presentations “Golly-ology” and “Electrifying Science,” hands-on workshops, health and fitness activities, games, crafts and karaoke.

Science Day is sponsored by Mercy Medical Center’s Nursing Workforce Grant and is hosted by the Boys & Girls Club and the Roseburg School District.
