33rd ANNUAL SPRING FAIR — It’s a three-day festival starting at 1 p.m. Friday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The annual event features more than 135 booths displaying the handmade products of local as well as regional crafters and artisans, continuous live entertainment on three stages, and food from the InnerSpace Kitchens. The entire family is welcome. Admission is $3 for adults; $2.50 for kids 6-12 and seniors older than 65; and kids 5 and younger are admitted free. Catch the fair Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES SALE — For the antique collector, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Conference Hall, there will be antique appraisal and chipped-glass restoration. Admission is $3. Benefit for Umpqua Valley Christian Schools. The sale continues from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. 679-8912.

ADVENTURE CAMP AT SAFARI — Take your wild animals to Wildlife Safari, 1790 Safari Road in Winston, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and enjoy a quiet Saturday. Campers ages 7-14 can take part in animal encounters, games, crafts and more. Registration is required and forms are available at Safari or by e-mail, education@wildlifesafari.net. Cost is $90 for all three days or $32 per day. Bag lunches are available for $5 or campers can bring their own. 679-6761 ext 221.

‘THE ROAD HOME’ — Interested in Oregon’s early history? At two different times, 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday, you will have the chance to listen to Susan Applegate read from her book, “The Road Home,” at the Douglas County Museum, 123 Museum Drive in Roseburg. The book is compiled from her family’s letters, journals, essays and poetry featuring Oregon’s early history. Listen to Applegate share her family’s history at the museum. Refreshments will be served and a signing will follow the presentation. 957-7007.

BARBERSHOP HARMONY SHOW — Three different vocal groups will team up at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Jacoby Auditorium, 1140 College Road, Winchester. This year’s presentation is called “Jolie Sang ‘em,” and features songs performed and recorded by Al Jolson. The Umpqua Timbermen Barbershop Chorus, Timber Belles Barbershop Chorus and Roseburg’s Vintage Harmony Quartet will perform separately and together. Special guests Jaron Cannon and The Dean’s List from Portland will also perform. Tickets are $10 and are available at Harvard Drugs, Hanson Jewelers and at the door. Students 20 and younger will be admitted free with ID. 672-1016.

LADIES RIDE NIGHT #2 — Saddle up at 4 p.m. Saturday at Cathey Cutting Horses, 1548 Tenmile Valley Road, Tenmile. Learn from experienced barrel racers and get tips and advice on how to improve both your riding skills and your relationship with your horse. Bring your horse out to the ranch. Cost is $25 per rider with a portion of the proceeds going to Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center. Some lesson horses available, but riders are asked to call to reserve them. 430-6021.
